The Social Learning Centre is 1 year old this week.  It now has over 2,000 members, and during the last year we have run around 20 different types of online workshops as well as some interesting webinars.  Here are just a few:

This week, Harold Jarche’s very popular PKM Workshop is starting again and running till 15 February – it’s not too late to sign up!

On 1st February and running through February, is Jane Hart’s Online Communities workshop.  This is followed by the eagerly awaited Social Learning in Business Workshop led by Harold Jarche in March.  Both of these two workshops also include a free introductory webinar that anyone can join.

We look forward to seeing you at one (or more) of these events.

Social media tools are increasingly being used in classrooms and workshops as well as in online courses. This short programme provides some ideas and suggestions for using social tools to enhance the social aspects of formal learning in your course, programme or training event.

At the Social Learning Centre I am going to be hosting a number of short online “programmes” about social media, social learning and social business. These “programmes” will use a very informal, social, collaborative approach: there will be no formal classes and no monitoring/management of your learning in a LMS. Rather the programmes will be hosted in dedicated group spaces on the Social Learning Centre (which is powered by a social and collaboration platform).

Each day there will be an “activity” that consists of an introduction to the topic with links to additional reading (if desired), an individual or group activity, and a group discussion question to encourage the exchange of thoughts, ideas, experiences and resources of participants.
