February Newsletter
February 3, 2012 in Newsletter
Welcome to all those who joined the Social Learning Centre in January; membership is now at 700.
Remember, that to get email notifications from the Centre – of new links, resources and discussions, etc – you will need to join the relevant interest groups. During January I added a few more interest groups to the list including Google applications for Learning, Social Learning Theory, Meet the ITA Team and Community Leadership. But you will find the full list of interest groups here.
What’s coming up in February?
First of all, the Introduction to social learning in the workplace programme begins on 20 February. I want to build a small group of participants with a common interest, and there are a few places left., so let me know if you would like to join this one. Details are on the linked page.
Secondly, on 22 February, I have my first In Conversation with .. webinar, with Jane Bozarth. This is going to be fun. It won’t be the normal presentational-style webinar, but a dialogue where I talk to Jane about her job, her books, and her thoughts about the use of social media in the workplace. Joining instructions once again are on the In conversation with Jane Bozarth webinar page.
I am lining up a number of great guests for this series of webinars; and you can find out who’s coming in the Webinars list.

How do the resources on this site relate to the smart workers guide to social media? It’s seems like there is a strong overlap. Would it be easier for people to follow if you combined the resources and programmes into one site?

Blair – thx for your feedback. Currently the resources on the SMGM site are only available to the subscribers there, whereas the resources here are freely available. I am gradually integrating/combing my sites – so this may well be the next thing that happens.
